VERTICAL CHALLENGES: CLIMBING

Climbing in the Alto Tajo is a limited activity due to its status as a Natural Park and the special protection that exists for some of the birds that nest in the canyons and cliffs. You can enjoy many routes already prepared in the right place so as not to interfere with them.

JOINING PATHS: EXPLORE VIA FERRATAS

Defy gravity with via ferratas that combine hiking and climbing. Climb vertical cliffs and suspension bridges, offering both a physical and mental challenge. EMOTIONS UNDERGROUND: CAVING

The area of the Alto Tajo and its surroundings is a paradise for speleology, both for its density and for the number of chasms and caves present. Many are the daring ones who dare to venture into the depths of the Park. If you are one of them, you will find what you are looking for here.

It is worth noting that the Serrezuela de Valsalobre is home to the two deepest chasms in Castilla-La Mancha.. They are known as "the JuanasTheir names are: sima de Juan Herránz I, 212 metres deep, and sima de Juan Herránz II, 173 metres deep. But they are not the only ones, as this is the area with the highest concentration of chasms per square metre in the whole of Spain.

There are hundreds of chasms in the area, here are some of them, especially the best known and often explored:

WILD RIVERS: CANYONING ADVENTURES

Although the Alto Tajo is known for its impressive geology and beautiful natural landscapes, the offer for canyoning is relatively scarce. Within the park and its surroundings, only a couple of canyons are officially authorised and recognised by the Castile-La Mancha Federation of Caving and Canyoning for the practice of this exciting sport.
