Hydrogeody
The Hidrogeodía is a day for the dissemination of hydrogeology, on the occasion of the celebration of the World Water Day which will be held on 22 March.
For this reason, the Molina-Alto Tajo Geopark will host a day with free activities, guided by hydrogeologists and open to all types of public, regardless of their knowledge of the subject on Sunday 26th March.
The Taravilla lagoon karst system: the action of water under the beauty of the landscape.
This activity will take place in the immediate vicinity of the Poveda waterfall and the Taravilla Lagoon the next Sunday 26 March from 10:00, where experts will help us to understand the importance of groundwater, taking these important resources from the Molina-Alto Tajo Geopark.
The itinerary begins in the spot known as Casas del salto de Poveda, a small reservoir that drains forming a waterfall over a disused dam covered by tuff deposits. The former lodgings of the workers who built the dam have been restored as rural accommodation with restaurant services and a parking area for vehicles. From there, the itinerary, about 3 km round trip, is made up of paths and a forest track, crossing the Tagus River on a footbridge, ascending the tuffaceous building that dams the Taravilla lagoon and ending with the arrival at the initial upwelling that gives rise to the whole tuffaceous system.
