Ascent of Pico Gallina and Cerro San Cristobal

On Saturday 11 December, the international mountain dayThis year, the Alto Tajo has organised an interpreted route, which takes us to the highest peak in the entire natural park. The San Cristobal Hill is located in Orea and, at 1,862 metres high, it is the highest mountain in the Alto Tajo.

The route has been labelled as being of high difficulty, as it is a path with a steep slope. It is aimed at adults or people over 16 years of age, as long as they are used to walking.

  • Difficulty High. 13,5 kilometres
  • Elevation 520 metres

The starting and finishing point will be the recreational area. La Jícara Fountain, located on the asphalted track linking the Orea with the road to Greeksat 10 a.m.

It is advisable to bring a packed lunch and sufficient water, as well as suitable footwear and any observation equipment you may need, such as binoculars or camera of photos.

Due to the length of the route, we must bring food, which will be provided en route, at the participant's expense,

This activity requires registration, which you will find by clicking here, remember to fill it in by the deadline.

Remember:

- Comfortable backpack, walking sticks if you need them. Take a hat, cap and sunscreen.

- Lunch and sufficient water. If we eat en route, bring your own food.

- Transport to the meeting point is at the participant's expense.

- The fauna and flora of the area visited must be respected.

- Take bags with you to store any rubbish that may be generated.

NOTE: The indicative deadline for registration is 12:00 noon on the Friday before the activity.
You must wait for an email confirmation to inform you whether or not there are places available. If the activity is full you will be put on the waiting list, you will receive an email to let you know.

If the activity does not appear on the list, you can no longer sign up because it is full and has a long waiting list or the registration period has closed. If you do not receive any mail within 48 HOURS, not counting weekends or holidays, please contact the organisers at the following email address [email protected].

PRIORITY WHEN ALLOCATING PLACES IS NOT IN ORDER OF ENROLMENT, other factors are taken into account, such as being suitable for the characteristics of the type of activity (family, adults) or not having ever taken part in any activity. A percentage will be reserved for people staying in an establishment in the region. Due to Covid restrictions, the number of places is limited, and the smallest number of family/natural groups will be taken into account when allocating places for the activity.

If you will not be able to attend once you have confirmed your place, please let us know as there is usually a waiting list of participants.
Due to the large number of applications we are receiving, we will not give preference by order of registration, but after studying the applications.
