Section 3.- Salto de Poveda to Puente de Poveda.

Approximate length of 3,700 m Period of use: 1 March to 31 October.

Entry points: Inmediaciones Salto Poveda

Disembarkation points: Fuente del Berro Recreational Area

Remarks: two rafts may be descended, medium-high difficulty.

The activity is only permitted on the Tagus River, with the exception of two excluded stretches:

  • The section from the border with the province of Teruel and the tail end of the Peralejos de las Truchas reservoir. - The section between the wall of the Peralejos de las Truchas reservoir and the Peralejos campsite.
  • The section between the La Rocha Dam and the Ocentejo Mill, where activity is not permitted, except for exceptional authorisations for events of interest during the period from 1 July to 31 October.

In order to favour a better compatibility with fishing, canoeing and rafting activities are compulsory between 10:00 a.m. and 18:00 p.m.

Canoeing is considered a permitted activity for individuals and groups of up to a maximum of 5 canoes, and an authorised activity for groups of 6 or more canoes. As for the activity carried out by tourist companies, it will be authorised, being necessary to present an annual programme of activities before the 31st of January of each year, which must be approved by the Provincial Delegation of the Environment, with the corresponding conditions.

Rafting may only be carried out with prior authorisation and exclusively by nature tourism companies.

The authorised points of access and exit of canoes and rafts to the river shall be specified for each section and duly marked. The entry and exit of canoes and rafts to and from the river outside the authorised points is prohibited, except for safety or rescue reasons, as well as the installation of piers and floating platforms.
