Fuente del Berro Refuge

The refuge of Fuente del Berro is one of the most accessible, as it is located right on the track that leads us to the Casas del Salto and the wonderful Poveda waterfall. It is located in a picnic area, which serves as a campsite during the summer months, provided that it is previously requested.

Since the overnight stay in the Natural Park and the use of the refuges is allowed as long as we go on a trail and respect the rules of use, we can say that this refuge is a good place to spend a night next to the Tagus River, especially if we are doing a section of the GR-113.

In the vicinity of the refuge, there is a picnic area with tables and benches and a fountain, as well as the building itself, which is currently closed due to the deterioration of its roof.

So for the time being We CANNOT make use of The roof may collapse, but we can spend a pleasant afternoon at the picnic area or refresh ourselves by the river.

<< How to get there?

To get to the Fuente del Berro, take the track that leaves from the Poveda de la Sierra point, which leads to the Casas del Salto, where you will find the refuge on the left hand side very close to the start of the path.
