El Chorrero Waterfall

El Chorrero is the most famous waterfall in the HuertapelayoIt is right next to the tunnel opened in the middle of the massive rock as you enter the village. When the Pelayos cross the stone wall that hugs Pelayo from the south to the east and west, the first thing they do is stop the car to see how much water is coming down El Chorrero to see if it has been a year of plenty or a year of drought. El Chorrero reaches its peak in spring, when all the winter snow melts and the abundant spring rains reach its bed.

Shortly before reaching the first houses of the village we came across a tunnel, that of the Portillo (opened by the villagers themselves using dynamite not so long ago) and which saves a large stone that interrupts the path. Next to this small tunnel the waterfall is located with contributions from the arroyo de la Vega which irrigates the lands and orchards of Huertapelayo.
