Valtablado de Beteta

Valtablado was one of the seven hamlets belonging to the Villa de Beteta from which it became independent in 1850, but with the emigration of its inhabitants between the mid-1960s and the beginning of the 1970s, the sale of its municipal district to ICONA and its subsequent depopulation, it once again became part of the Villa de Beteta in 1974.

Today it is a village abandoned and in total ruins.

In 2009, the Cultural Association El Rinconcillo of Valtabladoformed by former neighbours, friends and descendants of the locality, with the intention of recovering the identity of this municipality and that the descendants of those emigrants do not forget their roots.

Valtablado de Beteta is situated between the municipalities of the Iron Cave y Valsalobrein the highlands of Cuenca. There is currently a forestry tourist route (PRCU-04) which allows access on foot from both municipalities.
