Machorrillo viewpoint

This viewpoint is a real natural balcony overlooking the Tagus river canyon. From here you have a perfect view of the Taravilla or Parra Lagoon with its silhouette in the form of a footprint surrounded by a blanket of vegetation with a large
variety and richness that serves as a refuge for numerous species of fauna.

We can also glimpse the Salto de Poveda, a spectacular waterfall over 20 metres high, formed by the collapse of an old dam on the Tagus river very close to the lagoon.

Moreover, one of the reliefs that stands out most from this viewpoint is the well-known Muela del Conde, a meeting place for many climbers, as it has several classic climbing routes.

On the way to the same viewpoint, we will cross the forest of the high plateau of the Muela de Utiél, a forest with ancient specimens of pines and junipers, with shapes more than moulded by the climatic conditions, which are quite harsh in these high altitude areas. The undergrowth is a continuous blanket of aromatic herbs and shrubs such as boxwood, very present in all of these limestone limestones, which gives the whole plain a cushioned appearance.

<< How to get there?

To access the Machorrillo viewpoint, it is best to take advantage of the existing route from the Natural Park  "La Muela that runs along the top of the muela, taking us to different viewpoints that are well worth the effort. The route part from the Huerta del Forestal de Taravillaand you can download the track and all the information you need right here.
