El Rason Viewpoint (Peralejos)

El Rasón

El Rasón is located within the municipal district of Peralejos de las Truchas to some 1,655 metres altitude, at the southern tip of the Muela de la Ribagorda. It has a natural balcony from which the views are unforgettable: before our feet, the mountain plummets in dizzying descent down to the Hoz Seca riverThe view over the Hoz Seca ravine, the transversal canyon of the Tagus river and the joints of both rivers, and just above the mountains of Sierra Molina with the highs of Orea, Orihuela, Checa and Alcoroches.

Being in such an isolated location and with views of the Hoz Seca canyon, it is the perfect place for spotting wildlife such as the mountain goat, which likes the cliffs of this canyon.

For the same reasons added to the height of 1700 metres, it is an ideal place to enjoy one of the most spectacular natural viewpoints of all the Alto Tajo, but do not be confident, you are in the natural environment, and losing attention in places like this can be a danger, do not let your guard down, do not lean out too much, or take unnecessary risks, and avoid accidents that can cause us an upset.

<< How to get there?

The best way to climb up to this impressive viewpoint is to head for the hermitage of Ribagordaand before reaching it, we have to take the road to the left that goes up to the top of the Muela. 

We can always take the option of parking at the hermitage itself, and walk up to Rasón itself, thus completing the beautiful panoramic views with an ascending route that offers us numerous unforgettable scenes of the impressive natural heritage of this area of the Upper Tagus.
