La Vaqueriza viewpoint

This viewpoint is located at the foot of the road that connects the villages of Chequilla with MeginaThe CM-2111, and allows you to look out over the valley of the Cabrillas River and enjoy unbeatable views of the beautiful town of Chequilla.

From here, the reddish sandstone and conglomerate stone towers and monoliths and the white houses of this small town stand out among the vegetation, showing a curious integration between man and nature, maintained over the centuries.

It is an ideal vantage point for bird watching, especially for small forest birds of prey such as the goshawk, booted eagle, short-toed eagle, buzzard and sparrowhawk.

Moreover, from this quiet viewpoint, it is not unusual to see some animals roaming around the bottom of the valley. On our last visit, four fallow deer roamed freely before being surprised by our presence.

This is another of the viewpoints of the Natural ParkIt is worth a stop on the way thanks to its marvellous views and its accessibility.
