La Falaguera Recreational Area

This recreational area is located on the banks of the Tagus, in an ideal area for bathing during the summer season. It is a very popular place in the summer months, due to the quality of the water and the perfect conditions for enjoying the river.

In the pools located upstream of "La Falaguera" it is possible to practice scuba diving if you do it with one of the authorised companies in the area.

<< How to get there?

To get to this beautiful natural environment we have to go to Zaorejas and from there follow the path that leads us to the St. Peter's BridgeOne kilometre before reaching the aforementioned bridge, at a narrowing in the road, there is a sign at a crossroads on the right, where we can read "Área recreativa La Falaguera". From here, in about 4 kilometres along a dirt track, we will reach the area, where we can park our vehicle.

<< Equipment

As soon as we arrive, the first thing we see is a refuge in the middle of the path, a place where hikers can spend the night if they are coming from a different country. crossingAny other type of camping is forbidden. Apart from this, we will find inside a wooden fence, an area where to rest, equipped with tables and banks.

In this area we have the source which gives it its name, where we will be able to have water in case we need it. Posters explanatory information, sections to go down the river with water activities and with the park rules complete the equipment we will find.

<< What to do?

The recreational area La Falaguera is located in one of the marvellous landscapes that this stretch of the Tagus River offers us, always under the shade of the Valdenarros shady spot and tucked in by the river. Crystal clear waters The river runs along this stretch of the river along a succession of wide pebble beaches where you can leave your belongings for a refreshing dip on hot days.

As in so many others, strolling, cooling off, or simply doing nothing and enjoying the sound of the birds singing, becomes a perfect plan, next to the river that takes us there.

Once again remember that we will need to bring back our rubbish if we generate it, many behaviours are not what you would expect to see in a natural wonder, the areas do not have a rubbish collection service, so don't leave in the bush what doesn't belong to you.
