This curious enchanted town Hoya del Espino is made up of whimsical shapes that are like natural sculptures in which the material is rock, the tool is water and the artist is time. If we pay attention, we can see that the blocks of rock are elongated and aligned in the same direction. This is due to the fact that the dissolution of the limestone rock acts in a preferential manner, following the directions of a system of intersecting fractures and/or diaclases, which is evidence of the importance of the fracturing of the rocks in the modelling of the landscape.

This small enchanted town is located within the municipal boundaries of PeñalénIt is less than a kilometre from the town centre.

It is located at an altitude of approximately 1420 metres and is characterised by the presence of two cores of thunderstorms called the "Hoya del Espino" and "Peñas del Agua".  about 3 kilometres apart. Of these, it is worth mentioning the Sima del Agujerothe largest cornagano (shallow hollow in the rock, which in rainy weather usually collects water, above a Lapiaz) of the whole area.

In terms of its singularities, we can highlight the adaptation of man to environments such as this one, as they took advantage of the turrets, turrets and the existing vegetation itself for the construction of a farrowing which has all the conditions to be used for the benefit of livestock farming in the area.
