Abandoned Meander of Hoya de la Parra

The site known as "Hoya de la Parra is an abandoned meander of the Tagus river. Rivers do not always have a linear course, but sometimes trace marked curves (meanders), but due to the effects of erosion they can be abandoned. Thus, the Tagus River flowed through this curved valley with its flat bottom and steep walls, which we can now see and walk along, thousands of years ago.

In addition, a curious section of an old anticlinal fold on the banks of the Tagus which is surprising.

The best way to get to know these geographical features is by means of the georuta 7  or the route RG PNAT 08 that bring us closer to other spectacular places such as the Poveda waterfall or the Taravilla Lagoonto end up in Peralejos de las Truchas.
