Location: Staircase

Staircase is located on a high plateau at an altitude of around 1200 metres, between lush forests of junipers and pines, overlooking the valleys of the rivers Bullones and Gallo, in the central part of the Alto Tajo natural park.
The village is surrounded by some valleys and moorlands where dry crops alternate with savin junipers, which give the appearance of a wood of pastureland, and red pines, the latter being repopulated but fully integrated into the landscape.
The animal life is very rich, and the traveller, depending on the time of year, will be able to observe all kinds of birds of prey, deer and roe deer, enjoy the rutting, and even, in the surrounding rivers that are kept in good condition, some specimens of common otter.
The architecture of its buildings is simple, the façades are made of masonry, although the arches and ashlars of some of the main houses can be seen.
