It is a bridge small but elegant. The great height of the rocks on which it sits makes it appear slender, in the middle of a semi-wilderness area, where those of us who desire peace and contact with nature come to. The bend where the bridge has been built is a deep rock, insurmountable if it were not for this bridge, small in size and large in utility, and above all beautiful. Its reflection in the water attracts the attention of those of us who visit it, one cannot help but admire it.

The Tagüenza bridge is located between the municipalities of Huertapelayo y Huertahernado in the municipality of Huertapelayo. From long ago, the inhabitants of the villages of Huertapelayo and Armallones were connected by a bridle path to the villages of OcentejoHuertahernando and Buenafuente del Sistal To do so, they had to cross the Tagüenza river, which is why they built the so-called Tagüenza bridge, taking advantage of the terrain of the area.

It is a single-arch bridge, built in the 19th century in stone and concrete to replace an old and unstable wooden bridge that existed. During the Civil War it was partially blown up and later, in the middle of the 20th century, repaired. In the past, it was an obligatory passageway for the hook-makers. In fact, even today there are still reminders of these times engraved in the rocks of this construction, such as recesses or indentations.

The only current way to get to this bridge is to following the old path that passes through here carrying out a hiking route. If we join the two localities we will have done a path of little more than 7 kilometres. If we want to get closer from one of the towns, we can start again and return to HuertapelayoThe trail is a bit longer but less difficult than if you start from Huertahernando.
